SALT Lunchtime Seminar: Teaching large groups 3.12.10

Teaching Large Groups

Friday 3rd December | Council Chamber

12.00-2.00pm

Teaching large groups is becoming a reality for more and more academic staff and is one of the SALT Themes for this academic year.  This two hour, interactive seminar will look at some of the issues and challenges that large group teaching raises and consider some solutions and approaches.  Dr Paul Latreille from the School of Business and Economics, will highlight some possible strategies and techniques, including some used in his own teaching.

Dr. Paul Latreille, a Reader in Economics in the School of Business and Economics, is the Director of the Swansea Academy of Learning and Teaching.  He was an early winner of the University Distinguished Teaching Award and is the only academic to be recognised by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) Economics Network for his excellence in learning and teaching in different categories in different years. In 2008 he was the recipient of the HEA’s Student Nominated Award, and he was a co-winner of the E-Learning Award in 2007.

To register for the seminar please email salt@swansea.ac.uk.  Lunch will be provided.
