Borrowing Library Books over the Summer Holiday

Make sure you have renewed any library books for the vacation after June 21st! This should be possible unless somebody else has placed a request on a title. Here are the important dates to note:

Library users please note that ALL charges on your library account must be settled in full before June 19, 2011.
Library borrowing for final year students ends on June 20th.
Vacation borrowing for students returning in September starts on June 21st. This is for long and 1 week loan books only, and any books borrowed before the 21st must be renewed by you on or after that date.

You can renew your books online via the library catalogue – the link to log in is top right and you use your normal Swansea University username and password (that you use to log in to a campus PC).

If you need to do some research over the summer, check out our Digital Library resources. You will find links to any online books and journals in the library catalogue as well.

Journal of Economic Surveys: Top 25 Papers in 25 Years

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the publication of the Journal of Economic Surveys, the editors have selected their top 25 papers for an Anniversary Issue:

Some of the papers have been included because they have been heavily cited or regularly and heavily downloaded; some have generated debate or comments; some have been widely referenced on student reading lists. Others have been influential in policy making circles and have informed processes like the auctioning of the airwaves and recent debate on the financial crisis. Yet others were included because over the past 25 years, we believe the papers have or will make significant contributions to economics.

Read the issue here with links to all the papers chosen.

Promote Your Research!

We now have A4 size holders designated to promoting Research, these are located in a prominent position next to the Self Issue machines in the Library and Information Centre.

If you have Research that you would like to promote e.g. if you have recently had a book published and would like to publicise it, or if you are going to give a presentation and would like to promote it, you can use this advertising space.

Just send an A4 poster / sheet with the details of your publication / event to Library@swansea.ac.uk
